Who’s doing deals in Ottawa?

A division of Wi-LAN Inc., in partnership with 01 Communique, has entered into both a settlement and an agreement with Bomgar Corp. The patent licensing agreement settles litigation concerning several patents. Details about finances and the patents were not disclosed in a press release.

Panasonic has signed an agreement with Telesat to lease capacity on the Ottawa firm’s satellite, Telstar 11N. The deal is expected to allow airline passengers flying over the North Atlantic access to in-flight broadband and television. Financial details were not disclosed.

A subsidiary of Senstar Corp. is performing two projects for high-security prisons in Latin America. The US$2.4-million work entails building perimeter intrusion detection systems around the prisons. The sensors link to a centrally controlled security management system.

Ottawa telecommunications firm Mitel has selected fellow local firm Martello Technologies to provide remote accessing and monitoring services to Mitel’s clients. Martello is a company within Wesley Clover, a network of startups overseen by Mitel founder Terry Matthews. The value and length of the contract was not released.
