Elise Orlick, Director WashPIRG & WashPIRG Foundation wrote members of the ASCDI in the State of Washington, urging members to reach out to their representatives in Olympia to move Right of Repair out of committee. HB 1342 – 2019-20 and SB 5799 – 2019-20 are facing a deadline to move them out of committee, before the legislative session adjourns. The ASCDI has taken a leadership role backing right of repair. The organization believes the ability of many member companies to freely buy and sell previously owned IT gear could be at risk without these state level legislative efforts.
