IT Professionals Give Mitel Top Marks for Value, Customer Service and Technology
OTTAWA, Aug. 20, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Mitel® (Nasdaq:MITL) (TSX:MNW), a leading provider of Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) software solutions, today announced it has won the Market Challenger PilotHouse award for IP telephony products. Awarded by Nemertes Research, the annual PilotHouse awards are uniquely independent, as they provide analysis of vendor performance based on interviews with IT decision-makers and professionals who use the technology.
The awards assess performance in three categories: value, technology and customer service. Mitel scored above 4.0 across all three categories.
“Value is what leads Mitel to its first Market Challenger PilotHouse Award,” says Irwin Lazar, Vice President and Service Director at Nemertes Research, “Mitel showed tremendous improvement in all ratings areas over the last two years.”
Mitel’s score of 4.3 for “value” ranked first among all competitors assessed in this category. A telecom manager of a small retail chain remarked that the value it realized from Mitel’s portfolio enabled the organization to extend its deployment to much larger sites.
In addition, Mitel’s focus on leveraging virtualization through its partnership with VMware is paying dividends. “We’re a VMware shop, and we run VMware in our stores, so their alignment with VMware makes them a natural choice for our telephony platform,” said a director of IT for a small retail company.
“We are very pleased with the results of Nemertes research as it reflects the momentum we are seeing in the market,” said Ron Wellard, executive vice president of Mitel Communications
Solutions. “Our partnership with VMware and the realignment of the company to focus on virtualization solutions have propelled us into a leadership position in the industry. We are seeing tremendous traction with organizations who want to maximize their return on investment by deploying Mitel solutions to extend their business communications capabilities.”
