NORTH ANDOVER, MA – 08/01/13 – L-com, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of wired and wireless connectivity products, has added two gigabit Ethernet switches to its lineup of commercial Ethernet products. The new products are backed by L-com’s high-quality brand and offered at very competitive prices.
As LANs evolve from 10/100 to 10/100/1000 Base-T able to handle up to 1 Gbps speeds, network components including switches for the higher speeds are in increasingly high demand. This is the first time L-com has released a commercial switch for this application, though they have carried industrial-grade Ethernet switches since 2011. With the 5-port and 8-port options priced at around US$35 and US$45, respectively, these new switches are a price-sensitive option that comes with L-com’s brand reputation.

The new switches come with auto-negotiation, auto-MDI/MDIX, and support for up to 8k absolute MAC addresses. The datasheets and user manuals are available for free download from L-com’s website.
