WASHINGTON, July 24, 2014 Squire Patton Boggs recently announced the appointment of Partner Jeffrey L. Turner as chair of its leading Technology practice group, which is part the firm’s overall Public Policy practice and for which Mr. Turner also serves as managing partner.

Mr. Turner has advanced the business objectives of global clients in the telecommunications sector by promoting the adoption of legislation and regulation that aligns with their interests and helping block those that may be harmful.

Commenting on his new roles, Mr. Turner said: “With our expanded global footprint, we look forward to helping clients in capital cities around the world manage technology-related legislative and regulatory challenges. Our new leadership team, as well as members of the Technology practice, will continue to offer best-of-class service to global clients in helping promote their business objectives.”

The Squire Patton Boggs Technology practice represents clients in policy and regulatory matters on Capitol Hill and before the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, and various other agencies. This involves advising clients on matters such as commercial transactions and regulatory compliance matters, as well as helping to advance their legislative interests.

Recently, the newly combined firm appointed former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott (R-MS) and former Senate Chief Deputy Whip John Breaux (D-LA) as co-chairs of its Public Policy Practice Group. The leaders will direct policy-related initiatives for Squire Patton Boggs on a global basis, assisted by Mr. Turner and Al Cardenas of legacy Squire Sanders.
