The ASCDI has launched a site that lists member companies that are certified as ASCDI ITAD. The certification recognizes ASCDI members who are in good standing that have achieved specific Electronics Reuse/Recycling Certification, Electronics Reuse/Recycling Certification, and who actively offer ITAD Services.

This level of recognition is peer and customer reviewed, requires formal achievement and retention of strict certification standards, and is subject to spot checks and other reviews to make sure companies that the listed companies are active and up to date in all designated requirements, as we as actively offering these services currently.

“For over thirty years, the ASCDI has been a global leader in establishing best practices for community of green channel companies,” said Joe Mari, ASCDI President. “Historically, this included establishing and actively monitoring ethics, and creating peer driven processes to provide customers with the assurance that an ASCDI member company will deliver products and services according to the best industry practices,” Marion added. “We were defining green, before we were calling it green.”

With today’s launch, the ASCDI takes the vision of a circular economy to the next level. The new website will enable customers to source for vendors and partners who can accommodate asset management, the retiring of IT assets going out of use, or the utilization of previously used products, with certified levels of security and proper environmental management of every part and system.

“Customers originally came to the green IT market for saving and asset recovery,” said Marion. “Now ASCDI ITAD enables customers to meet today’s need to know that products being deployed or going offline, will be secure at the highest level possible, and will be treated to allow an IT department to maintain today’s corporate guidance on environmental impact of operations.”
