New Studios in Seoul and Singapore join network of over 30 IBM Studios globally

ARMONK, N.Y. – 09 Jun 2016: IBM (NYSE:IBM) today announced the opening of IBM Studios in Singapore and Seoul, Korea to support digital reinvention for clients in Asia. With these Studios, IBM will help enterprises in two of Asia’s economic powerhouses put innovative customer experiences at the core of their businesses through a combination of cognitive capabilities and experience design.

IBM Studios Seoul, located at the IBM Korea headquarters in Yoido, and IBM Studios Singapore, located in the Marina Bay Financial Centre, will host designers and digital experts from IBM Interactive Experience  (iX), which provides next-generation services dedicated to creating personalized brand experiences.

In both Studios, clients will work side-by-side with IBM’s cross-functional team of creative designers, researchers, digital strategists and cognitive solution experts to solve the world’s most complex business challenges. Together, they will co-create new business models and offerings based on IBM Design Thinking, which takes a rapid prototyping approach to human-centricsolution development, as well as IBM Design Language, a framework to inspire bold and engaging customer journeys.

For example, KB Kookmin Card in Korea recently worked with IBM iX to drive innovative digital experiences for customers on mobile devices. Together, the companies developed a customer-centric approach to identify services to be enhanced and prototyped and tested a new mobile app expected to be unveiled soon.

The iX team is also working with Singapore Airlines to implement two mobile apps for its pilots. The FlyNow app will support the pilots in flight preparation, providing relevant operational information in a timely manner while the Roster app will enhance pilot awareness of their assigned duties, along with their qualification compliance for operations.

“Bringing the IBM Studio model to Korea and Singapore — two incredibly creative, vibrant and digitally savvy countries — will bring increased value to our clients, who recognize that the customer experience is the new competitive battle ground,” said Paul Papas, Global Leader, IBM iX. “IBM iX’s unique blend of cognitive and Design Thinking capabilities help businesses delight their customers with customer-centric innovations that deliver the right experience at the perfect moment.”

IBM Studio Singapore and IBM Studio Seoul join the growing network of over 30 IBM Studios across the globe, including robust presence in Asia Pacific with locations such as Bangalore, Melbourne and Shanghai. Joining the growing list of IBM Studios are locations recently obtained in acquisitions IBM iX made earlier in 2016 of Aperto, Bluewolf, ecx.io and Resource/Ammirati.
