Telecom Channel Veteran to Co-lead Expanded Outreach and Advocacy Efforts in 2015

LOS ANGELES, Calif., Feb. 17, 2015 – Hilary Gadda, partner channel director for TelePacific, was named president-elect for Women in the Channel, a grassroots organization formed to educate and empower women with careers in the telecommunications sales channel.

As president-elect, Gadda is serving a two-year term, working side-by-side with WIC President Nancy Ridge, vice president for Telecom Brokers. Gadda will become president of the group in 2017.

Over her 24-year career in telecom/IT, Gadda has spent 20 years in the channel, providing sales leadership and enablement to indirect sales partners. She has been the director of the partner channel at TelePacific for nearly 14 years.

“While I’ve been fortunate to work for a company that offers women leadership opportunities, that still isn’t a given, by any means,” says Gadda. “Today, however, that’s rapidly changing.

“2015-2016 is a real turning point. We have developed the resources, influence and membership that will let us actively shape and expand the opportunities for Women in the Channel.”

Gadda has been a member of WIC since it was founded in 2010. For the past two years, she’s served as a member of its board of directors, filling the roles of chair of events and chair of outreach programs.

Under her leadership, WIC forged a critical alliance with Advancing Women in IT, a community sponsored by CompTIA, the leading IT association. As part of that partnership, Gadda now serves as an AWIT board member, representing WIC.

On the events side, Gadda was instrumental in adding three regional events coinciding with partner summits held by telecom master agencies Telecom Brokers, Telarus and MicroCorp. In addition, she spearheaded national events held during the Channel Partners Conference & Expo and Cloud Partners. WIC’s 2015 spring event will be held at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo, 5-8 p.m., Sunday, March 15, at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.

In her new role as president-elect, Gadda’s goal is to help WIC scale beyond its grassroots origins and more effectively deliver on its charter. Specifically, she points to three initiatives:

  1. Expanding the expertise of its non-board business advisors group to include not only accounting and marketing, but also expertise in scaling operations and funding sources.
  2. Improving the onboarding process with the March 15 launch of the Angel Program, which pairs new members with existing members who can advise them on maximizing their opportunities with WIC.
  3. Growing the outreach program to include promoting careers in telecom/IT by working with AWIT’s Dream IT project to get its members in front of young women in their schools.
