Tech Data Offering Xperia Smartphones Through Partnership With Sony

CLEARWATER, Fla., June 9, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Tech Data Corporation (Nasdaq:TECD) today announced an agreement with Sony (NYSE:SNE) to provide the Sony Mobile lineup of smartphones, tablets and related accessories to Tech Data’s channel of solution providers through the company’s Systems & PeripheralsIT (S&P) division. Authorized Sony resellers can now offer a complete mobility solution, including tablets, smartphones, wearable technology and accessories. Solution providers can also now offer Sony smartphones with activation through the Tech Data Mobile Solutions division.

Key features of Sony Xperia smartphones include waterproof capabilities in select models, display technology derived from Sony televisions, premium design, Sony’s leading camera technologies, and NFC for easy one-touch connectivity to a broad ecosystem of accessories and entertainment devices.
