Integra Telecom Earns SIP Interoperability Certification With Community Edition of Fonality trixbox

PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 14, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Integra Telecom Inc., a provider of fiber-based, business-grade networking, communications and cloud solutions, has lab-certified the Fonality trixbox Community Edition (CE) IP PBX system to operate with its Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Trunking service. The certification helps ensure interoperability and seamless operation between trixbox CE and Integra solutions.

“We are pleased to add trixbox CE to our list of lab-certified products. This new certification ensures that Integra customers who are using or wish to use trixbox CE will have a seamless experience,” said Rogier Ducloo, director of product management at Integra Telecom. “We will continue to expand our list of IP PBX certifications to provide the best choices and integrated service to our business customers of any size.”

The trixbox CE, an open source IP PBX based on the Asterisk platform, is designed for use by small to medium sized businesses (SMBs) and mid-size corporations with hundreds of users. With it, businesses have the flexibility to build their own custom features and modules, and it boasts one of the largest and most active online user communities with quick access to forums, issue resolutions, bug fixes, product enhancements, project development and more.

The trixbox CE system can be integrated seamlessly with Integra’s SIP Trunking service. Utilizing the company’s extensive fiber-based voice and data network, Integra’s integrated product set combines multiple voice and data options on a single connection to provide businesses with dynamic bandwidth allocation and high-bandwidth options up to 30 Mbps. Voice services always take priority and include SIP Trunking with multiple compression options, or traditional line, trunk or ISDN PRI handoffs to any PBX.

“This successful compliance testing between Integra and Fonality will be well received by our customers who utilize both Integra SIP Trunking and the popular open source IP PBX system,” said Aron Aicard, senior director of product management.

Integra offers voice lines, Internet, MPLS and SIP services integrated with state-of-the-art VoIP systems, data services and unified communication applications. The company is continually working to expand the number of IP PBX systems that are Integra lab-certified to operate with its SIP Trunking service.
