Eaton logoFebruary 22, 2016 … Power management company Eaton today announced its latest version of Intelligent Power ManagerTM software, which includes integration with VMware’s vRealize Operations Manager along with a new pricing structure designed to create new recurring revenue opportunities for channel partners. Eaton is also introducing a power management training series to help its partners become certified Intelligent Power Manager consultants.

The new pricing structure for Intelligent Power Manager is designed to help members of Eaton’s PowerAdvantage® Partner Program make up to five times more per sale, plus increase their margins through offering upfront installation and annual consulting services around all of Eaton’s product offerings. The pricing structure corresponds with an increasing level of capabilities and the required number of licensed nodes. The Intelligent Power Manager Basic edition with limited virtualization functionality remains free for up to 10 licensed power nodes. The Silver license, which adds advanced power actions, costs $5,000 for up to 100 licensed power nodes and the Gold license, which gives full control of third-party power devices, costs $10,000 (with increased discounting) for over 100 power nodes. In addition, the discounting structure through distribution, the Eaton PowerAdvantage® Partner Program has been revised to allow partners to achieve greater margins on upfront software and installation services for their registered opportunities. With the enhanced feature and pricing schedule, partners are able to charge more and ultimately make more money per year, per customer.

“There are great business opportunities for value-added-resellers (VARs), and Eaton is leading the charge to bring those opportunities to the channel,” said Hervé Tardy, vice president and general manager, Eaton Distributed Power Quality Division. “Eaton’s new Intelligent Power Manager consultant certification platforms are designed to help partners become experts in disaster avoidance for their customers, adding significantly to the business value they provide.”

Eaton is outlining alternative revenue streams that are simple for partners to bolt on to current business practices. The focus on building out a complete revenue stream with healthy margins, not only around hardware, but also software and managed services will enable Eaton’s partners to truly take advantage of their customers’ power infrastructure life cycles. The training process to become a certified Intelligent Power Manager consultant is free, and customer support is available at every stage of the process. The on-demand curriculum will have technical, sales, and end-user tracks and be available on mobile and tablet devices. Visit https://eaton.6connex.com/event/IPMCertification/login to register. Integrated and validated by Cisco, NetApp, EMC, Simplivity, Nutanix and VMware, Eaton Intelligent Power Manager builds on Eaton’s legacy of innovation by extending network runtime and protecting critical equipment. Eaton’s latest Intelligent Power Manager software integration with VMware enables a seamless user experience within vRealize Operations Manager to view and manage power equipment, such as uninterruptible power systems (UPSs) and power distribution units (PDUs), saving time and money by providing end users with rich analytics for power capacity planning and workload placement. When connected to vRealize Operations Manager, data center managers can also take advantage of its predictive analytics capabilities and smart alerts to assess the upcoming risks associated with power and environmental devices.
